COUNCIL RACKS IN K17M FROM INTERCITY
Local Government Permanent Secretary Technical Services, NICHOLAS PHIRI says the local authority is still in control of the Intercity Bus Terminus and Kulima Tower Bus station.
This follows media reports suggesting that the two Bus stations have been taken over by political party cadres.
And Mr. PHIRI says it is NOT true that the local authority has lost control of the two bus stations to cadres.
The Permanent Secretary said this when he visited the two Bus stations in Lusaka.
And Mr. PHIRI said he is impressed that the revenue collection for the bus stations has improved from 10.5-million Kwacha in 2019 to 17 million Kwacha this year.
He however directed the local authority to start issuing monthly updates in the management of Public spaces such as markets and bus stations.
