COSAFA U17: BOYS THROUGH TO THE FINAL

The Zambia boys Under 17 team have booked a place in the finals of the 2021 COSAFA Youth Championship.

The junior Chipolopolo beat Malawi three one in the semi-final encounter that kicked off at 10:00 hours today.

After playing to nil stalemate at halftime, Captain of the side JOSEPH SABOBO BANDA broke the deadlock with a 50th minute goal as he put the team in the lead.

Eight minutes after Zambia scored the opener, MATTHEWS BANDA added to the tally making it two nil.

Malawi on the other hand scored a consolation goal in the 68th minute through BLESSINGS KANOWA to make it 2-1.

And having scored in all games for the junior Chipolopolo, BANDA stretched Zambia’s lead to three one with an 87th minute goal.

Zambia however await for the winner of the Angola and Eswatini clash that is currently underway to know who they will face in the final.

The Battle for Gold will start at 19:00 hours as Zambia will be aiming to be crowned champions of the Boys 2021 COSAFA Youth championship.
