COSAFA : LESOTHO BEAT ZAMBIA 2:1

By Chansa Kunda – COSAFA defending champions Zambia has lost 2-1 to Lesotho in their opening group A encounter.

The Chipolopolo took the lead in the 29th through JUSTINE SHONGA before opponents Lesotho came from a goal down to score two goals in the second half.

MOTEBANG SERA scored a brace in the 70th and 86th minute giving Lesotho their first victory at the COSAFA tournament having lost their opening game.

And Chipolopolo Coach MILUTIN SREDOJEVIC says the game was fair despite the team not playing according to expectations.

MICHO says the team had numerous chances and missed great opportunities that has led to the loss.

He says the team had clear cut chances but did not convert them into goals.

Speaking after the game the Serbian National praised Lesotho for putting up a good performance.

MICHO said the team will build on today’s lessons and get back to winning ways in their next game.

Zambia will play Eswatini on Saturday, July 10th at 15:00 hours in their second COSAFA group A fixture at the Isaac Wolfson stadium.
