Copper Queens to camp in Morocco ahead of AWCON…Mwape to name his final squad tomorrow

Copper Queens head coach Bruce Mwape will tomorrow name his final squad for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.

The team will head to Morocco for camping next week ahead of the tournament.

Mwape says his side is ready to fight for the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) title and secure a place at the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

Next month’s 2022 Morocco AWCON tournament will act as a qualifier for the Women’s World Cup.

Meanwhile all the foreign based players have who have been summoned have reported for camp with only Kazakhstan domiciled Grace Chanda been awaited on.

At the tournament the Copper Queens have been placed in Group B alongside Cameroon, Tunisia and Togo.

Bruce Mwape’s lasses are expected to play two friendly matches with a team to be named tomorrow.

The Top four teams at the AWCON to run from July 3-23 in Morocco will qualify to the World Cup that will be held in Australia and New Zealand next year.

Two more teams will be involved in play-offs with teams from other continents.
