Copper Queens in WAFCON qualifier battle this evening

The Copper Queens will today take on Angola in the first leg encounter of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations -WAFCON- qualifier.

The game is set to kick off at 17:00 hours Central African time at the 22 June Stadium in Luanda Angola.

This will be the second meeting between the two sides after the teams clashed in a Group B 2023 COSAFA Cup fixture which saw the Copper Queens triumph with 3 goals to one Score line.

However the dynamics of today’s game are set to change as most of the players who could not make it for the COSAFA tournament are back in the Squad for the Copper Queens with all 23 summoned in Camp.

And speaking to ZNBC news prior to the encounter Coach BRUCE MWAPE declared the team ready.

And Angola Women’s Football team Coach SOUSA GARCIA said his side is not intimidated by the pedigree of the Zambian team.

GARCIA says despite the Copper Queens being the most experience side, qualifying for the Women’s Africa Cup is the ultimate dream for his players.

And Copper Queens Striker RACHAEL KUNDANANJI who spoke after joining the team said the players are ready to die a little for the country.
