Local Government Permanent Secretary Amos Malupenga has urged local contractors to be competent when executing Government projects.
Mr. Malupenga says excellent delivery of projects will enable local contractors win public confidence and attract government support.
He said this in Mkushi District when he toured the twenty kilometers Mkushi urban roads Rehabilitation project.
The Project is being undertaken by a local contractor Stalwart Investment at a cost of One hundred and twenty-three million kwacha.
Mr. Malupenga has since expressed satisfaction with the works done so far.
Meanwhile, Stalwart Investment Project Coordinator Davies Mubanga said the company has obtained a permit from the National Council for Construction -NCC- not to go on industrial break this festive season.
Mr. Mubanga said this is in order to expedite works on the project which is expected to be complete by April 2019.
