Continued Political Violence By Cadres Disappointing

By Prudence Siabana

A political scientist Chris Zimba has expressed disappointment at the manner the police are handling cases of political violence being perpetuated by cadres. In an interview with phoenix news, Dr Zimba observes that it is important for the police to distinguish itself by enforcing the law equally despite an individual’s status or political affiliation.

Commenting on the over 200 farmers who have been displaced by suspected patriotic front cadres in Ndola’s Kanyanji garden area on the Copperbelt, Dr Zimba says the act by cadres must be condemned and bring those involved to book.

Further, Dr Zimba says such behavior is not democratic hence the law enforcers must rise to the values and ethics of what they are trained for.
Efforts to get a comment from the Zambia police service failed by broadcast time.
