CONSTRUCTION OF PALACES ELATES CHIEFS

(ZANIS) Chief Katyetye of the Tambo people of Isoka district in Muchinga province has applauded Government for playing a significant role towards the welfare of traditional leaders through infrastructure development.

Chief Katyetye says President Edgar Lungu’s administration has paid particular attention towards the welfare of traditional leaders by the construction of modern chief palaces.

Speaking yesterday during the handover of his new palace in Isoka district, Chief Katyetye charged that Governments efforts towards uplifting the living standards of traditional leaders through various developmental projects cannot go unrecognized.

And Muchinga Province Permanent Secretary Davison Mulenga who graced the handover, said it is President Edgar Lungu’s desire to ensure that traditional leaders have well established modern accommodation.

Captain Mulenga said the palaces are institutional administrative centers of chiefdoms which are being constructed in phases, adding that Government will ensure that all the palaces under the Royal Highnesses Palaces project are completed on time.

He further commended the local contractor engaged to construct the new palace, Vichili Vikwiza Trading Limited, for exhibiting quality works on the project.
