Clatous Chama to face former team, Berkane this month

Zambian midfield ace Clatous Chota Chama will face his former team RS Berkane in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Zambian international left Wekundu wa Msimbazi in August last year for Morocco joining Renaissance Sportive de Berkane commonly known as Nahdat Berkane or RS Berkane before making a surprise return to Tanzania in January.

Simba eliminated Zambian side Red Arrows 4-2 on aggregate to reach the group stage while RS Berkane saw off APR of Rwanda 2-1 on aggregate.

Chama was initially expected to face Simba SC with Berkane facing off against Rally Bwalya and co but now the Zambian duo will line up together against the Moroccan outfit.

Chama and his Simba SC teammates will start their Confed Cup group stage campaign on Tuesday when they host Asec Mimosas of Ivory Coast.

The Tanzanian giants will then face off with US Gendarmerie of Niger on the 18th February. Simba will then face Berkane on the 25th.

Clatous Chama inaction during his time at Berkane

Chama has already hit the ground running at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on his second stint with two goals to his name and two assists.

Chama spent three years at the club in his first stint after joining the Tanzanian giants from FAZ Super League club Lusaka Dynamos in July 2018.

In his last season at Simba SC, Chama had the best goal contribution of any player in the Tanzania Vodacom League with 15 assists and eight goals (23).
