Civil Servants Warned Against Abusing GRZ Vehicles

Authorities in Northern Province have cautioned officers in the civil service against abrogating regulations on the use of government vehicles.Provincial Deputy Permanent Secretary Davison Mulenga says those charged with the responsibility of overseeing districts and departments must guard against abuse of government vehicles.Captain Mulenga said this when he handed over 141 thousand US Dollars newly procured utility vehicles to three recently created districts in the province namely Senga, Lunte and Lupososhi.He says the provincial administration will not condone misuse of government property meant to benefit the welfare of the general citizenry.He explained that government through the office of the President is keen in ensuring that development is taken to all parts of the country hence the decision to establish new districts.Meanwhile, Senga District Commissioner Peter Chail says the vehicle will enable his office reach out to far flung areas of the district.And Lunte District Commissioner Ronald Mulenga thanked government for the timely purchase of the vehicles saying the development will improve monitoring of government programmes.
