CHUNGU CONDEMNS VIOLENCE

By ZANIS:

Former Northern Province Minister Chungu Bwalya has condemned the political violence being perpetrated by political party cadres.

Mr. Bwalya says there is need for Zambians to uphold peace in the run up to the general election.

He said Zambia is a peaceful country and no one should be allowed to disturb the peace.

Mr. Bwalya said it is unfortunate that it is only President Edgar Lungu who has been condemning violence while other opposition leaders are silent.

Mr. Bwalya said this in an interview with ZANIS in Luwingu today.

Suspected United Party for National Development (UPND) cadres on Thursday  allegedly attacked the residence of Patriotic (PF) Northern Province Secretary, Remmy Kabali in Kasama.

But UPND Provincial Chairperson, Victor Sinkala expressed ignorance over the incident but was quick to condemn any form of electoral violence
