Chipolopolo interim coach Aggrey Chiyangi has set his eyes on guiding the national team to the 2020 African Nations Championship which will run from January – February in Cameroon.

Chiyangi named his final squad with Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba and Rally Bwalya been the only inclusion to the squad that won the COSAFA Cup in South Africa.

The national team coach spoke to the media after the Chipolopolo evening training and he said, “An important game to us, CHAN is an important tournament and we have to make sure we qualify.

“It won’t be easy but preparation is key. If everything goes well we have to make sure we get a positive result in Botswana but whatever happens, the focus is to make sure we qualify for CHAN.”

He also stretched out how difficult it is to be Green Eagles coach and national team at the same time, “It’s very difficult but you just have to be strong. People think coaching is easy but it is not you have to work hard and plan.”

Zambia will this Friday travel to Botswana where they will play the first leg before the return match on the 3rd August. Should the Copper Bullets win they will face the winner between Angola and Eswatini.
