Chisi completes CAF A coaching lisense…Returns home

Red Arrows boss Chisi Mbewe has returned home after completion of his CAF A license in Tanzania.

The Airmen confirmed that Mbewe has completed his course in a post on their official Facebook page.

The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) also handed Mbewe a Champions send off to celebrate his work of guiding the Airmen to the 2021/2022 Super League title.

“TZ Federation gives Chisi Mbewe a Champion send off… The 2021/22 MTN Super League winning coach has since arrived home after completion of his CAF A Coaching program in Dar,” – Arrows posted on their official Facebook page.

Chisi and Green Eagles assistant coach Alex Namazaba started their course last year in August when they traveled to Dar es Salaam in pursuit of a CAF A Coaching license to make them eligible to sit on the bench in CAF continental football.

They then travel back to Dar in March before the final at the start of this month.

Mbewe guided the Airmen to a third place finish in Super League last season to qualify for CAF inter-clubs competition after a nine-year wait.

A CAF A License, or its equivalent, is a compulsory requirement for all coaches managing clubs that are participating in CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup tournaments.

The Airmen have continued building on that trajectory as they won the league and will again represent Zambia in the CAF Champions League.
