Chipolopolo ready for Iraq says Asanovic

Zambia national team coach Aljosa Asanovic has said his team is ready to face Iraq in a friendly match on Friday at 20:00hrs local time.

After the match against Iraq, Zambia is expected to head to Portugal to face neighbours Angola on 25 March.

Four days later, the Copper bullets will face Guinea in France.

Speaking ahead of the friendly in Baghdad, Asanovic said he was looking forward to the game.

“I’m so happy to come here because it’s a good test for us. Iraq is a good team. But we are also prepared very well for this game..” He said.

He mphasized that fans should expect positive results as his players are ready for the game after the team has settled in well in Baghdad.

“First of all what I tell before the game I know my players and during the last two trainings I’m so optimistic, I am so happy. We are ready for the game,” he added

Asanovic will be using local players for Friday’s encounter.
