Chipolopolo off to Zimbabwe

Chipolopolo Coach Wedson Nyirenda has named his final 22 member squad travelling to Zimbabwe for Sunday’s international friendly match in Harare.

Nyirenda has dropped Power Dynamos goalie Allan Chibwe, Mwila Phiri (Green Eagles), Mukabanga Siambombe (Zamcoal Diggers), Isaac Siamujompa (Nchanga Rangers) and Mischeck Chaila who limped off during the friendly match against Lusaka Dynamos.

And Nyirenda expressed satisfaction with the calibre of the opposition organized for the Chipolopolo.

“Zimbabwe is tough, that is why I think playing Zimbabwe is a good choice,” he said.
“They have always given us a good run, they are playing good football. They were at the AFCON we were not there, so we have to give them the respect and the credit and I think they will give us a good match.”

The team leaves for Harare at 16:10 hours via Emirates Airlines.
Zambia plays Zimbabwe on Sunday in an international friendly at National Sports Stadium in Harare.

Nyirenda is using the match to assemble a team that will be used for African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Swaziland in July.
