CHIPOLOPOLO OFF TO SA FOR COSAFA

The Men’s football team comprising local players has left for South Africa ahead of the 2023 COSAFA Championship.

The 23-member squad left the country today for the championship that kicks off Tuesday.

Among the notable players that have made the final squad are Power Dynamos goalkeeper LAWRENCE MULENGA and will battle it out for first position with Nchanga Ranger’s VICTOR CHABU and Trident’s FRANCIS MWANSA.

To beef up the squad the technical bench has included players AARON KATEBE, BENEDICT CHEPESHI, KELVIN KAPUMBU, KELVIN KAMPAMBA and FREDRICK MULAMBIA.

Some of the young players named for the Championship are ABRAHAM SIANKOMBO, JOHN CHISHIMBA, ALBERT KANGWANDA and HARRY MILANZI Junior.

Assistant Coach MOSES SICHONE told ZNBC News the team is ready to go and defend the title.

Defender BENEDICT CHEPESHI says the team will not underrate any opponent and will do their best defending champions.

Zambia is in Group B and will face Malawi on July 6th 2023 in their opening game.
