Chipolopolo Missing 17 players on current International Friendly Tour

The Zambia national soccer team is out on a three match international friendly match tour. The Chipolopolo last evening went down 3 – 1 to Senegal in Thies.

Coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Serodovic is carrying a team that is thin and stretched to barest minimum with up to 17 possible inclusions to the squad not available for selection due to various reasons.

Below are the players not available and the reasons:

1. Five including four of the Euro based players are 0ut through injury: Lubambo Musonda, Emmanuel Banda, Kelvin Mubanga, Edward Chilufya, Frankie Musonda Chisenga

2. Two were unable to play against Senegal due to knocks picked up in Senegal: Mwenya Chibwe, Benson Sakala

3. South Africa based quartet were excused due to club commitments: Rodrick Kabwe, Gamphani Lungu, Kabaso Chongo, Augustine Mulenga

4. Another quartet of Euro based stars were excused owing to pending transfers: Patson Daka, Enock Mwepu, Fashion Sakala & Evans Kangwa

5. The Chama brothers Adrian and Clatous were given leave due to a family bereavement following the demise of Triple C’s (Clatous’) beloved wife.

The absence of some of the key players has saw coach Micho hand three debut appearances to promising talents with Prosper Chiluya and Prince Mumba both grabbing the opportunity to impress while Cardiff City’s Ntazana Mayembe made a cameo appearance.

Zambia next play Benin on Tuesday before completing their international tour with a game against Sudan on Friday
