Chipolopolo midfielder Emmanuel Banda tests positive for Covid-19
Sweden based Zambia national team midfielder Emmanuel Banda has be sidelined after testing positive for Covid-19, his club Djugarden has confirmed.
Banda who was due to feature for his club in the weekend Cup game against Kalmar returned a positive result together with three other first team players Magnus Eriksson, Jacob Une Larsson and Aslak Witry and had to leave the squad.
“Magnus Eriksson, Jacob Une Larsson, Aslak Witry and Emmanuel Banda left the squad due to Friday’s confirmation of corona infection in the team,” the club statement read.
The 23 year old attacking midfielder has had a renaissance since moving to the Allsvenskan but his progress last season was hampered by injury.
He is however expected to be back in a couple of weeks in readiness for the start of the season.
