Chipolopolo Chan team’s performance cheers fans

ZANIS—A local football analyst has praised the Zambia national soccer team for displaying a good performance against Guinea in the second group match at the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Cameroon.

Speaking in an interview with ZANIS, Puncherello Chama, said the game was not easy and a draw against Guinea was a fair result for both teams.

“It was a very good performance by the squad, it was not going to be easy,” he said.

Chama said he does not feel the coach will make any changes to the starting squad against Guinea when they face Namibia in the next match.

Meanwhile, another football analyst Lubinda Nguleka expressed concern on the coach’s decisions to delay to introduce players that make a difference to the game.

Nguleka said some players have shown determination and dedication hence they deserve to feature on the starting line-up of the game.

“For example a player like Spencer Sautu is one of the players, you as a coach would want to start in the first team line up,” he said.

Nguleka said he expects the coach to make some tactical changes when the team face Namibia in the last group stage game.

The Chipolopolo boys played to a 1-1 draw against Guinea in the second group stage game of the CHAN 2021 tournament.

Zambia and Guinea are both on 4 points with Guinea sitting on first position on goal difference while Tanzania is on third position with 3 points and Namibia on fourth position with no point.

The Chipolopolo boys will face Namibia in their final group fixture on January 27, 2021 at the ongoing tournament in Cameroon.
