Chipolopolo Boys to face Senegal in a friendly

The Football Association of Zambia, FAZ has secured an international friendly match against Senegal for the Chipolopolo Boys.

The friendly match against the West African power house will be played on June 6, 2021 in Dakar.

Chipolopolo Boys coach Milutin Sredojevic will be using the match to assesses players.

While Zambia has been struggling in recently, the Teranga Lions under the tutelage eye of the Alliou Cisse are one of the most performing sides on the continent.

Senegal are currently ranked 22nd in the World compared to Zambia who are 87th.

The match in Dakar will see Cisse summon the likes Sadio Mane [Liverpool], Edourdo Mendy  [Chelsea], Ismaila Sarr [Watford], Idrissa Gueye [PSG], Cheikhou Kouyate [Napoli] and Kreplin Diatta [Monaco].

With over 40 players plying their trade in top five leagues in Europe, the West African are one of the favourites for next year’s Africn Cup of Nations as they will equal Zambia’s 17th appearances at the tournament.

Despite having qualified to the World Cup twice, Senegal is yet to win the African Cup of Nations with their best result coming as runners up in 2002 and 2019.

Zambia, who have failed to qualify for the last three African cup of Nations has played in three finals and won it in 2012.

Zambia has been grouped with Tunisia, Mauritania and Equatorial Guinea in the Qatar 2022 World cup qualifiers
