CHIPANGALI YOUTHS ABANDON SCHOLARSHIPS

BY CHRISTOPHER MITI

Chipangali District Commissioner, PAUL SAKALA has called for retrospection on why young people are absconding government education programmes.

This comes after several beneficiaries of the CDF skills training bursaries in Chipangali, failed to take up the sponsorship.

Over 100 students from the district have absconded from Chipata Trades Training Institute, despite being awarded sponsorship.

Mr SAKALA said in an interview with ZNBC news in Chipangali, that there is also need to engage the affected students and chart the way forward.

He has explained that his office will devise a monitoring mechanism to ensure people respond positively to education opportunities.
