Chinese National Dies in Road Accident

LUSAKA, 30TH SEPTEMBER, 2018

Two people among them a Chinese national died on the spot while two others sustained injuries in an accident which happened on 30th September, 2018, at around 1200 hours along Kitwe Chingola road.

Involved was a Toyota Hilux ALL 988 which was being driven by a 27 year old male Chinese national whose name has been withheld until the next of kin is informed, who sustained head injuries and died on the spot and a passenger who also died on the spot while two other passengers are admitted to Nchanga North Hospital in Chingola.

Zambia Police spokeswoman Esther Katongo said another vehicle involved was a Sino truck ALL 4045 whose driver ran away after the accident.

“The accident happened when the driver of Toyota Hilux being driven from North to South failed to keep to his lane and went to hit into an oncoming Sino truck  which was being driven from South to North,” she said.

In another accident which occurred today (Sunday) 30th September,  2018 at around 1220 hours along John Ken gravel road about 1 kilometre off Chisamba road, one person identified as Spriano Makangaka of unknown age and of Chipembi died on the spot.

“The accident happened when the driver of the motor vehicle  Toyota Mark 11 registration number A LG 7725 identified as Festus Musalwa Kapikisha aged 36 of Johnken Estates in Chisamba lost control of the motor vehicle due to excessive speed, went off the road and fliped off upside facing North,” Katomgo said.

The body of the deceased is in Chisamba Clinic mortuary awaiting postmortem.
