CHINESE GOVT PLEDGES SUPPORT

The Chinese government has pledged to provide technical support to Zambia for public health security at points of entry into the country.Chinese Vice Minister of General Administration of Customs Zhang Li Wen says it is important that Zambia implements public health security at border points to prevent cross border diseases.Mr. Zhang says his country is ready to support Zambia with the technology to ensure the country is free of diseases from other countries.He was speaking in Lusaka after signing a Memorandum of Understanding -MoU- with health minister Chitalu Chilufya on public health security.And Dr. Chilufya thanked China for its support to Zambia’s health systems.Dr Chilufya said China has been instrumental in the expansion of the Levy Mwanawasa Teaching Hospital in Lusaka.
