The Communist Party of China and the United Party for National Development have pledged to strengthen their collaboration especially in the promotion of interests of women in politics.

CPC Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Commerce Bureau, EUEFEI LI says the collaboration between the two parties is a step in fostering international cooperation and addressing common challenges.

ZANIS reports that Ms LI when she met UPND Deputy Secretary General, GETRUDE IMENDA on the sidelines of the women in politics forum at the ongoing China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo.

Ms LI said the collaboration between the two political parties will enhance the sharing of ideas, experiences and best practices which is beneficial to citizens in both countries.

She further said the two parties must begin to venture into economic ventures that promote the wellbeing of women within their political parties and countries as a whole.

And Ms IMENDA said Zambia stands to greatly benefit from the collaboration with CPC as it is more advanced in various areas of national and political well-being.

She said China being an all-weather friend, her party, will continue to lobby China in the promotion of new frontiers that promote women sustainability.

Ms. IMENDA has since proposed for exchange programmes between the two parties so as to exchange ideas on issues affecting women participation in politics.

The UPND is in China at the invitation of the CPC to attend the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo with particular focus on women participation in politics.

And, Ms. IMENDA addressed the Women in Politics Forum with particular focus on the important role of women in politics.
