The Chinese government has announced that it will provide 100,000 doses of the Sinopharm covid-19 vaccine to Zambia.

Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Li Jie says the vaccines which were recently approved by the World Health Organization are expected to arrive in the country in the next few weeks.

Ambassador Li hopes the vaccines will see fewer covid-19 infections and deaths which the country has witnessed in the past few days.

Recently, the WHO placed Sinopharm’s Covid-19 vaccine on its emergency use list, giving the green light for its global use.
