China deals to bear fruit soon – Malanji

KASUBA MULENGA, Beijing
PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu’s visit to China was successful because it has attracted investment pledges following the signing of agreements between Zambia and Chinese business entities of international repute.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Joseph Malanji told a wrap-up media briefing here yesterday that President Lungu’s participation in the 2018 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit will soon start bearing fruit.
“This was a good programme which was very well executed by the President. If you realise, 53 heads of State were here for FOCAC.
“In 2016, Zambia was one of the pioneers of FOCAC although it was at a technical level that time. We are proud to be part of it. Zambia is the first country in southern Africa to have partnered with China,” Mr Malanji said.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
