Chililabombwe woman nabbed for fake dollars and drug trafficking

The Drug Enforcement Commission -DEC- has arrested a 31 year old woman of CHILILABOMBWE for allegedly being in possession of counterfeit US Dollar notes and drug trafficking.

Prudence MULENGA,was found in possession of $6,300 and loose cannabis weighing 6.2 grams.

DEC Assistant Public Relations Officer SYDNEY KATONGO has told ZNBC News in a press statement that Ms MULENGA in collaboration with a man believed to be her husband and is currently on the run, operated a makeshift laboratory at their residence.

Ms KATONGO said during a search, law enforcement officers discovered an assortment of chemicals and materials suspected to have been utilized to produce counterfeit currency.

And in Northern Province Mr KATONGO said the Commission arrested two businessmen for unlawful possession of assorted government medicines procured from undisclosed sources across the province.

The two have been identified as CHRISTOPHER MUSONDA and CHIMWEMWE CHILONGA both aged aged 40, who are believed to have been buying medicines from undisclosed individuals at health centres across Kasama District,and nearby districts.

And in Solwezi District,the Commission has nabbed PATSON WEUPE and ELIZABETH MATEMBA both from Kazhiba Village for illegal cultivation of fresh cannabis weighing over 180 Kilograms.

All the suspects have been charged and awaiting court appearance.
