CHILANDO PRAISES FRACAL

By Lucky Phiri:Lusaka Deputy Mayor Chilando Chitangala has praised the Future Resilience for African Cities and Land -FRACAL- for their efforts in championing the fight against effects of climate change in urban cities of Southern Africa.Ms. Chitangala says the Lusaka City Council remains keen in contributing towards the strides being made in achieving smart climate cities.The Deputy Mayor said this when she officiated at the urban Climate Caucus on Future Resilience for African Cities and Land FRACAL in Lusaka.And Ms. Chitangala said the FRACAL project has helped bridge the gap between researchers and policy makers.She said the project has also seen more than 30 councillors trained in water management and climate change since the inception of the program four years ago.And, Harare Deputy Mayor, Enock Mupamawonde is optimistic that the programme will help policy makers address the effects of climate change.
