CHIEFTAINESS MUMBI MUKULU HAPPY WITH ROAD WORKS

(ZANIS) A traditional leader in Northern Province has thanked government for rehabilitating roads in her chiefdom.

Chieftainess Mumbi Mukulu of the Bemba people of Kasama says the rehabilitation of the 83 kilometers road to gravel standard will ease the movement of the people in her chiefdom.

She says the rehabilitation of roads will further open the area to various economic activities.

Chieftainess Mumbi Mukulu said this when Kasama District Commissioner, Kelly Kashiwa paid a courtesy call on her.

And the traditional leader has praised government through the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit – DMMU for distributing relief food to her subjects whose crops and houses where damaged by floods during the last rain season.

Earlier, Mr.  Kashiwa distributed over 2,000 by 12.5 kilogram bags of relief mealie meal to the affected families in the area.
