Central African Republic seeks bilateral ties with Zambia

Masauso Mkwayaya-The Central African Republic (CAR) has requested Zambia for a formal bilateral agreement which will see the Zambia Army help that country to re-establish its Army.

CAR Defence Minister REMAEUX CLAUDE BIREAU says his country is rebuilding its Military and will need Zambia Army’s experience and professionalism in putting up a formidable and disciplined Force.

Mr. BIREAU says despite the instability in the country, his administration has never received any negative report concerning the conduct of Zambia Army Officers serving in CAR.

Mr. BIREAU said this at his office in Bangui-CAR- when Minister of Defence AMBROSE LUFUMA paid a courtesy call on him.

And Mr. LUFUMA said Zambia holds a longstanding principle of support towards African countries that are afflicted with various challenges such as war.

Mr. LUFUMA said Zambia believes that it cannot be entirely free if its neighbours or any other African country is going through challenges.

He says he is in CAR to appreciate and find solutions to challenges that Zambian troops serving in that country are facing.
