Cast your net wide,Grant advised

(By Chansa Kunda)-A local Coach, has urged New  Chipolopolo Coach AVRAM GRANT to widen his selection of players to be summoned for Zambia’s  AFCON qualifiers fixtures that will resume in March this year.

NEBART PHIRI says having a huge pool to select from will give GRANT numerous options and bring the much needed competition in the squad.

PHIRI says the country has alot of talented players who must be given an equal opportunity to challenge for a place in the national team as opposed to having the same faces.

PHIRI who is  River Plate  Football Club Coach says having GRANT as Coach for the Chipolopolo, is a gain for the country as he is among the best coaches in the world .

Speaking in an interview with ZNBC  PHIRI said support must to be given to the Israeli National so that be can guide the Chipolopolo to an AFCON qualification after missing the past three editions .

Zambia will play Lesotho in the back to back March  AFCON fixtures.

The Confederation of African Football -CAF- pushed the 2023 AFCON  to 2024  to allow African teams take part in the  2022 Qatar World won by Argentina.

The move hence saw a revision in fixtures with the third and fourth group stage games to be played from March 20th to 28th  2023.

The Fifth Group games will be played from June 12th to 20th , 2023 while the final group stage fixtures will run from September 4th to 12th 2023.
