CAF postpone Interclubs semis & Women’s qualifiers

The Confederation of African Football, CAF has postponed CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup semifinals due to the Worldwide outbreak of the Coronavirus.

According to a statement on the official website monitored by the ZamFoot Crew, the CAF Emergency Committee decided to postpone the matches until further notice.

The FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup Qualifiers have also been postponed indefinitely.

“In light of growing concerns and evolving nature on COVID-19 amidst lockdown in most countries, the CAF Emergency Committee has decided to postpone the following matches until further notice:”

-Total CAF Champions League and Total CAF Confederation Cup Semifinal matches Both legs scheduled for the 1-3 May & 8-10 May 2020 _

-FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup Qualifiers: Initially scheduled for 1-3 May and 15-17 May 2020

A new schedule for these games will be announced in due time. Meanwhile, CAF says it is monitoring the situation closely and working with the relevant authorities such as the Wealth Health Organization (WHO) on the impact of the virus on the continent.

Zambia is however not participating in any of the postponed games after the young Copper Queens squandered a 2-0 first-leg win to lose 3-2 on Aggregate to South Africa while the last team in inter-club Competitions, Sensational Zanaco suffered a 3-1 aggregate loss to Egyptian giants Pyramids.
