CAF CC: North African job for Zanaco

Zambia’s only remaining representative in the CAF confederation Cup, Sensational Zanaco have been drawn in a group of death.

The Bankers have been drawn in group A alongside Egyptian side Pyramids FC, Tunisian side CS Sfaxien and Ahli Tripoli of Libya.

This follows the 2021-22 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup Group Stage draw that was conducted at CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt earlier today.

Top African gaffer Pitso Mosimane who is head coach of Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC, assisted Khaled Nassar, the CAF Head of Competitions in the draw that produced some thrilling pairings.

Kelvin Kaindu’s men started their campaign in the CAF Champions League where they beat Equatorial Guinea side, Akonangui 3-0 on aggregate.

The Bankers then dropped to the CAF confederation Cup after losing 4-2 on aggregate to Sudanese side All Merreikh.

To qualify to the group stage of the second most prestigious inter-club competition on the continent, Zanaco saw off Binga of Mali 3-2.
