Cabinet Office Expects Ministers That Illegally Stayed In Office To Comply With Court Order

By Balewa Zyuulu

Cabinet Office has asked Ministers that illegally stayed in Office after the Dissolution of Parliament in the run up to the 2016 General Elections to Respect the Constitutional Court Ruling.

The Constitutional Court Last Thursday Refused to Reopen and Review its final order where 64 PF Ministers who illegally remained in office after parliament was dissolved ahead of the general elections were asked to pay back the salaries and allowances they received while in office.

In an interview with phoenix news, Deputy Secretary to Cabinet, Christopher Mvunga says all the affected Ministers are obliged to start paying back the money as per court order ruling.

There has been a public outcry over the reluctance by President Edgar Lungu to urge the ministers to comply with the Concourt ruling.
