BUZ AGAINST GOVT INTENTIONS TO ONLY CONSIDER VOLUNTEERS AS FIRST PRIORITY IN THE UPCOMING RECRUITMENT IN THE HEALTH SECTOR

By Balewa Zyuulu

The Biomedical Union of Zambia –BUZ-says it is wrong for government through Health Minister Sylvia Masebo to only consider volunteers as first priority in the upcoming recruitment in the health sector.

Recently, Health Minister Sylvia Masebo while addressing health workers at Kafue Hospital said the deployment of health workers will prioritize volunteers who have been working on temporary basis in various health facilities across the country.

But BUZ President Daniel Mwimbe says the Ministry must prioritize all qualified Zambians whether they have been working on temporary basis or not.

In an interview with Phoenix News, Mr. Mwimbe also called for transparency and inclusiveness in the recruitment of these health workers.
