Bruce Mwape to tinker Copper Queens’ line up against Ghana

Zambia Women’s national team coach Bruce Mwape is expected to make changes to the starting line up against Ghana.

The Copper Queens host the Black Queens at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in the second leg of the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifier.

Barbra Banda and Racheal Kundananji were joined in attack in the first leg by the returning former captain Kabange Mupopo and Racheal Nachula.

Despite Zambia recording a narrow victory, there are concerns that the midfield duo Evarine Katongo and Ireen Lungu were exposed.

In order to have a balance, Mwape is contemplating leaving out Mupopo and try to introduce a third midfielder to reduce the work load on Lungu and Katongo.

Buoyed by the home crowd, the Copper Queens are favourites to advance to the final round against either Morocco or Tunisia.

Morocco has a 2-1 aggregate.

In the past 12 months, Zambia have played 22 matches.

The Black Queens have only lost twice in their last 12 matches.

Morocco won the first leg 2-1.

In the other pool, Nigeria’s Super Falcons drew against Cameroon.

South Africa’s Banyana Banyana beat the Tanzania’s Twiga Stars 3-0 in the first leg.
