BRITISH GOVT SENDS KK BIRTHDAY MESSAGE

The British government has wished first Republican President Kenneth Kaunda a happy 97th birthday.

British High Commissioner to Zambia Nicolas Woolley says Dr. Kaunda has had an eventful life.

Mr. Woolley says it is delightful that the links between Zambia and the United Kingdom remain strong.

He adds that Zambia has been an influential member of the Commonwealth, adding that Queen Elizabeth still holds fond memories of her interactions with Dr. Kaunda.

Mr. Woolley said this in a birthday message to first Republican President Kenneth Kaunda to commemorate his birthday.

He commended Dr. Kaunda for promoting the one Zambia one nation motto and has appealed to Zambians to honor the motto as the country approaches the August polls and denounce tribalism.
