Bishop Chihana: Lungu Must Stop Being a Tyranny

Lusaka Clergy Bishop Simon Chihana has asked President Edgar Lungu to stop being a tyranny.
Commenting on the arrest of UPND president Hakainde Hichilema and his Deputy Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba today in Luanshya for alleged seditious practices, Bishop Chihana said the development was an embrassment to the International community.
Bishop Chihana said this in a statement below to Zambian Eye Wednesday evening:
The demonstration of one lacking a vision in life is made manifest when you are fighting people around you anyhow because they seem to be a great threat to your existence. It is also a well known factor from the Biblical perspective of how certain individuals and people suffered persecution because of who they were, individuals like Joseph, David, and the nation of Israel.
The arresting of Mr Hakainde Hichilema and Mr GBM by police in Luanshya is a great embarrassment before the international community and a great setback to our democracy.
How does the whole government of Zambia arrest men that have done nothing and absolutely nothing against the laws that govern us, indeed this is total dictatorship with ruthlessness and heavy cruelty at work and at its worst.
President Lungu must avoid a leadership of confrontations and focus on things that can benefit the nation.
Why should President Lungu allow himself into such kind of leadership, when with all certainty everyone is supposed to enjoy the freedom of movements, speech and association. We call on President Lungu to desist from being a Tyranny but be a leader that can be admired beyond the boarders of Zambia and Africa, we call on him to stop traumatising Mr Hichilema and Mr GBM because of their political influence on the people of Zambia.
BISHOP SIMON CHIHANA
IFCC President
