AVIC International Revises Rates Of Materials Being Supplied To Sub-Contractors

By Tinkerbel Mwila

AVIC International Department 1, the contractor engaged to work on township roads in Kitwe, Mufulira and Chingola on the Copperbelt under the Zambia Township Road 300, has agreed to revise rates of materials being supplied to sub-contractors.

The consortium of local contractors and allied suppliers has confirmed that AVIC has also agreed to give sub-contractors 5% advance payment without any insurance bond or bank guarantee on all contracts.

Consortium president John Chilupula who confirmed the development to Phoenix News says this will apply to all contracts signed after 1st of October 2019.

The consortium had earlier engaged AVIC to see how best they can dialogue to revise the bill of quantities following increased cement prices on the market which it said had hampered execution of works awarded to them under the 20 percent sub-contracting policy.
