Asanovic will be in-charge of friendly matches in March

New Zambia coach Aljosa Asanovic is expected to name his squad next month ahead ‘two quality friendly matches’ in March.

And Asanovic is set to be unveiled either on Tuesday or Wednesday by FAZ before the draw for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Friday in Yaounde.

In his weekly column, Kamanga revealed that Zambia will play two friendly matches in the March FIFA window.

“As part of preparations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, we will utilize the March FIFA window to organize two quality friendly matches,” the FAZ Boss wrote.

While Zambia will be engaged in friendly match matches, the top 10 countries will be vying for the 5 slots at the FIFA 2022 Qatar World Cup in March.

Kamanga also said that his association are tracking down players plying their trade eligible to feature for Zambia.

“Additionally, we will in liaison with the incoming coach pursue aggressively the inclusion of Zambian players scattered around the world who are eligible to play for the Chipolopolo through the application of dual citizenship law,” he wrote

“This will be done to strengthen and balance the team particularly in positions we are struggling.

“We have already been in touch with some and hope that we can wriggle our way around some of the bottlenecks that we have encountered on this path.

Zambia last featured at the AFCON in 2015.
