Asanovic trims squad ahead of COSAFA duty

Midfield duo of Abraham Siankombo and Harrison Chisala have been dropped as the Copper Bullets intensify preparations for the 2022 COSAFA championship.

Siankombo and Chisala were part of Aljosa Asanovic’s provisional squad for this year’s tournament.

Green Buffaloes winger Golden Mashata has also failed to make the cut having just recovered from an injury.

Kings Mutandwa, Charles Majapa, and Happy Nsiku were also handed a week-long mentorship by Aljosa Asanovic and will also leave the camp together with the dropped trio.

The Chipolopolo boys will join the Cosafa party at the quarterfinal stage where they will await Group A winners on July 12.

Group A comprises Angola, Botswana, Seychelles and Comoros.
