Asanovic to keep an eye on Zanaco duo M’hango & Manda

Chipolopolo Boys coach Aljosa Asanovic will be at Lusaka’s National Heroes Stadium on Sunday for Group A’s CAF Confederations Cup clash between Zanaco and Egyptian side Pyramids.

The 53 year coach will be joined in the stands by his assistant Karol Prazenica and video analyst Stephen Ceravic.

This will be the fourth match in 72 hours, the Zambian coach will be watching in his marathon to scout for players ahead of next month’s friendly match against Bafana Bafana.

The trio were at Nkoloma Stadium on Saturday for the double header.

They watched the dull Dynamos derby between Lusaka Dynamos and Power Dynamos with only Joshua ‘Budo’ Mutale showing a glimpse of why the Ndeke faithful rave about.

But with Kabwe Warriors’ Prince Mumba ahead of Mutale in the pecking order, national team call up might come to soon for him.

And then came the battle of a bathing towel between Red Arrows and Prison Leopards.

There’s nothing new for Asanovic to know for his ‘beloved’ Red Arrows as he has fallen in love for the airmen.

While it was just confirmation for Arrows players, Asanovic is believed to have been impressed with three Prison Leopards.

Goalkeeper Patrick Chooma, midfielder Francis Zulu and Conlyde ‘Golden Boy’ Luchanga might earn call ups.

Then while his assistants were keeping tabs on Nkwazi duo Steven Mutama and Christopher Zulu against in form Buildcon, Asanovic took a flight to the Copperbelt to watch Zesco United’s humiliation of Kalampa.

On Sunday, the Asanovic will be at Heroes Stadium will be running the rule on Zanaco duo M’hango and Manda.

Despite being deployed out of position on the right, Manda was the bankers’ break out player in the first half of season.

In a season which has been deemed average in the domestic league, Manda’s high energy game hasn’t gone unnoticed.

The 24 year old on loan Muza striker suffered a groin injury in December and return to early against Forest Rangers.

He is expected to start on the bench.

For M’hango, the 22 year old is becoming one of the best defenders in the league.

Despite just making his professional debut in December against Kansanshi Dynamos, he is making that position his own.

He is calm, composed and commanding in the air.

He has already been described as Zambia’s symbol of present and future.
