ARSONISTS DELAY POWER CONNECTION TO LUANO

(ZANIS) Suspected arsonists and vandals in Luano have delayed connection of the district to the national grid under the Rural Electrification Authority, REA.

REA Chief Executive Officer Clement Silavwe says 30 poles were burnt down and others stolen, affecting the projected date of November month end to switch on the district.

Mr. Silavwe said this when he paid a courtesy call on Central Province Minister Sydney Mushanga.

He also revealed that a contract has been awarded to the contractor who established the solar hammer mill plant to construct mini grids in Ngabwe district.
