Arrows host Kalampa as Zanaco, Buildcon clash

MTN Super League returns to action this afternoon at Lusaka’s Nkoloma Stadium with Zanaco and Buildcon battling it out in a lunch time kickoff.

CAF Champions League hopefuls Red Arrows await the visit of Kitwe giants Nkana in the second match in Chelstone township.

On Wednesday, there will also be a double header in Kabwe at Godfrey ‘Ucar’ Chitalu.

Relagated threatened Napsa Stars will play Kabwe Warriors in an early kickoff while Prison Leopards will welcome the visit of log leaders Zesco United.

Zanaco v BuildconWill Zanaco return their sensational swag?

Zanaco face ‘Money Bags’ Buildcon in the first of the double header at Nkoloma Stadium looking for a win.

Zanaco coach Chris ‘Mr Takatiko’ Kaunda is under-pressure after fans showed their displeasure with his substitutions over the weekend following a defeat to Kitwe United.

The bankers can close the gap on leaders Zesco United with a win against the David Chilufya coached Ndola side.  A win for Buildcon might see them level on 46 points with fourth placed Lusaka Dynamos as they keep their dream of playing continental football next season alive.

For Zanaco, they have an array of stars with top scorer Moses Phiri leading the attack with veteran striker Rodger Kola. The duo have scored 26 of the 46 goals Zanaco has scored this season.

Should Zanaco [50 points] suffer a defeat then, the bankers might just allow the chasing pack of Red Arrows [46], Lusaka Dynamos [46] and Kabwe Warriors [44] to close the gap on them with four matches to goal.

Red Arrows v NkanaCan Arrows should show their mantle against resurgent Kalampa?

This is arguably the peak of the midweek ties as there’s all to play for.  Arrows need to show their continental credentials while Kalampa can come out of the drop zone with a win.

Third placed Red Arrows will hope to close the gap on Zanaco with a win against Nkana, who are desperate for points as they plot to escape the drop zone.

Red Arrows coach Chisi Mbewe who will be hoping their likes of Felix Bulaya, Diarra and Francis Simwanza will come to the party and support the evergreen James Chamanga in attack.

In defence, it will be an interesting battle between Alex Ng’onga and former DR Congo under-20 captain Tresor Tshibwabwa.

Nkana last suffered a defeat to Red Arrows in 2016. In the first half of the campaign, Kalamba beat Arrows 2-1.
