Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba, AU Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamati confer over various issues

ZAMBIA’S Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, His Excellency Emmanuel Mwamba and African Union Chairperson His Excellency Moussa Faki Mahamati have met to discuss various issues.
The two discussed current reforms being instituted at the African Union Commission (AUC)
And Mr. Mwamba discussed the African Union infrastructure projects which include the high speed rail,where the Mpika Training facilities and industrial complex will be the sub regional centre for the rail project.
Mr. Mwamba also urged the African Union Commission Chairperson to help expedite the relocation of the Economic, Social and Cultural Council(ECOSOCC) and the recruitment of the Secretariat Staff.
And His Excellency Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamati thanked His Excellency President Edgar Lungu for the support that his government continues to give to the African Union Commission.
He said Zambia has played a critical and historical role in the realization of the objectives of the African Union.
He pledged that the ECOSOCC Secretariat will relocate to Zambia as scheduled.
He also stated that he will find time to travel to Zambia and personally check the Mpika Infrastructure facilities to ensure that the hifh speed rail project succeeds.
He said now that the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) has come into force, infrastructure projects promoting integration such as the high speed rail project, have become a priority.
He said the Project was the flagship for the AU Commission as it will open up links among African states.
