Alternative Vegetable And Fruit Market Set To Be Opened Today In Lusaka

An alternative vegetable and fruit market where farmers will be selling their produce will today be opened in Lusaka following the closure of Soweto market due to the cholera outbreak.
Local government and housing minister, Vincent Mwale told jouralists yesterday that this is all in an effort to ensure produce coming directly from the farms have a market and avoid a shortage of fruits and vegetables on the market.
Mr Mwale added that his ministry and the Zambia National Farmers Union will ensure the new place does not get contaminated like other markets have been.
