All set for youth day celebrations

Mwla Nsofu-Government has emphasized that march-pasts will take place in provinces and districts across the country to commemorate this year’s Youth Day.

Chief Government Spokesperson CHUSHI KASANDA says the public should ignore a circular circulating on social media platforms indicating that there will be no march-pasts to commemorate Youth Day.

Ms KASANDA has also called on youths across the country to commemorate this year’s Youth Day which falls, tomorrow, Saturday, March 12, 2022.

She says this year’s youth Day commemoration is special as it is the first one under the United Party for National Development -UPND- Government since coming into office over six months ago.

In a Statement to ZNBC News, Ms KASANDA who is also Information and Media Minister said the day marks an important beginning for the youths under the UPND Government which has demonstrated great passion and commitment to the welfare of the youths in the cou
try.

She said as such, this year’s Youth Day commemoration is being held against the backdrop of significant strides that Government has made to improve the welfare of the youths.

Ms. KASANDA said this includes various youth empowerment schemes and programmes which Government is rolling out countrywide.

She said there is every reason for youths to commemorate their day as they forge a renewed future and a renewed hope under the new dawn government, as they participate in national development.

Ms. KASANDA said government reaffirms its commitment to the development of youths into skilled and responsible citizens that contribute meaningfully to the development of the country.
