All Africa Churches call for mass vaccination

Patricia Banda-All Africa Conference of Churches -AACC- General Secretary FIDON MWOMBEKI has urged members to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Dr MWOMBEKI says it is the only way that will stop the spread of the Omicron variant outbreak in the Southern African region.

He was speaking this morning through virtual presentation from Kenya at the official opening of the 33rd, three days General Conference for the Council of Churches in Zambia which is a member of AACC in Lusaka.

Dr MWOMBEKI explained that there is need to step up sensitisations against any myth surrounding the vaccine so that more people can get vaccinated.

And Council of Churches in Zambia -CCZ -General Secretary EMMANUEL CHIKOYA has welcomed the call for the church to take a leading role in getting their members vaccinated.

Father CHIKOYA said it is one of the key issues being discussed at the conference.

He has told ZNBC News that vaccination points for COVID 19 have since been set up at the conference for participants to get their vaccine.

And Dr CHIKOYA also pointed out that the conference will also discuss among other issues the 2021-2022 national budget.
