AIRTEL ZAMBIA ADOPTS TWO COMMUNITY SCHOOLS

 

Airtel Networks Zambia Plc has through the Zambia Open Community Schools -ZOCS- adopted two community schools located in Chongwe and Ndola rural.

Airtel Managing Director and Chief Executive officer, APOORVA MEHROTRA says his company is grateful that Airtel has become part of the Community school which now has over 800 pupils enrolled.

Speaking during the handover of 40 desks to Mwalubemba Community School in Chongwe rural, Mr MEHROTRA said it is gratifying to see the enthusiasm displayed amongst the learners despite the lack of adequate infrastructure at the school which currently consis
s of 3 classrooms and a makeshift structure that is used for the early childhood learning class.

And, ZOCS Executive Director, CLEOPATRA MUMA expressed gratitude to Airtel for buying the desks worth over 35 thousand Kwacha and opting to adopt two community schools both located in the rural areas of the country.

Mwalubemba Community School Head Teacher, ZACHARIA MUNYENYEMBE said the desks will go a long way in accommodating at least 1-hundred and 20 learners for each learning session.
