AFCON winner Kangwa pens two year extension at Arsenal

Zambian striker Evans Kangwa has signed a new contract with Arsenal Tula for two Football seasons the ZamFoot Crew can exclusively reveal.

Kangwa who was excused from Micho’s squad for June FIFA window friendly matches signed the deal in a Russian City, Tula through his agent Nir Karin.

Karin has been Kangwa’s agent for the last 8 years and he also represents winger Lameck Banda and Kings Kangwa who are all on the books of Arsenal Tula though Banda spent last season on loan at the Israeli side Maccabi Netanya.

The striker has expressed happiness to renew his stay in Tula and thanked his agent for being with him since his time at Nkana.

“I’m happy to sign again with Arsenal Tula. I have been here for 4 years and it is like my home now. I thank my agent, Nir Karin who has been with me from my days at Nkana,” he said.

Meanwhile, his agent is full of praise for the former Nkana talisman’s professionalism.

“Evans Kangwa is an example of professionalism, discipline, stability, hard work, loyalty, and morality. I’m proud to follow him and be his agent and I can’t wait to see him in the new season.”

Arsenal Tula will go to pre-season camp in Austria next week before they start their 2021/22 season campaign.

Last season, Kangwa scored 5 goals and assisted 4 more. The new campaign will be his 5th season with the Russian Premier League outfit.

Before moving to  Russia, Kangwa was in Turkish and Israeli leagues making him one the longest-serving Zambian footballers in Europe at club level.

On the international scene, the 28 year old made his Zambia debut in 2011 and was part of the CAF 2012 African Cup of Nations winning squad.

Recently, he captained Zambia in the Cameroon 2020 African Cup of Nations qualifiers. He has gone on to make 16 appearances for Zambia with a return of 3 goals.

He also owns a lower tier football club, Shamuel.
